Below is a list of things that new students will need to do before joining us at Caltech in September. The items listed below are organized by due date, and required items are noted as such. Please don't forget to look ahead to begin working on deadlines that may be coming up. Feel free to contact the deans' office if you have any questions.
MAY 29:
- Read Letter from Board of Control and Watch Honor Code Video (Required - All New Students)
- Deadline to register with Caltech Accessibility Services for Students (CASS) for academic accommodations for placement exams.

JUNE 7:
- Writing Placement Test Due by 5 p.m. PDT (Required - Freshmen & Transfer students)
Testing window opens Friday, May 29.

JUNE 12:
- Math Diagnostic Exam Due (Required - Freshmen)

- Complete Course Selection Survey (Required - Freshmen)

- Complete New Student Information Sheet (Required - All New Students)

- Math 0 General Start Date – Information will be sent to your Caltech email address
- Deadline for incoming students to register with CASS for housing accommodations for fall 2020-21

- Math Advanced Placement Exam Due (optional)

- Accept Financial Aid Package (To show on pre-bill)

- Chemistry Advanced Placement Exam Due by 11:59 p.m. PDT, within 24 hours of downloading the exam (optional)

AUGUST 7:
- Incoming Student Survey due 5:00pm PDT. Sent to your Caltech email on August 3.

- Submit Photo for Caltech ID Card (Required - All New Students)

AUGUST 21:
- Enroll in or Waive Caltech Student Health & Dental Insurance (Required - All Students)
Information and instructions for Caltech Student Health & Dental Insurance for 2020-21 will be available in July.

SEPTEMBER 1:
- Complete Music Form and/or Theater Arts Form (Optional)

SEPTEMBER 15:
- Health Forms Due (Required - All New Students)

- Make-up Writing Placement Test Due by 8 p.m. PDT (Required - Freshmen & Transfer students who did not complete test in June.)

- AlcoholEdu and Sexual Assault Modules Due (Required - All New Students)
An email with instructions will be sent to your Caltech email on September 7.
- Deadline to update your Local or Temporary Residence through Access.Caltech (Required - All New Students)
SEPTEMBER 30:
- Avoiding Plagiarism Module Due (Required - All New Students)
